Congratulations to Sharpe Rd. on a near perfect season and a well-deserved sweep of the regular season and tournament championships.  Thanks again to all coaches and players who made this season enjoyable.  We look to see you all again in the Spring of 2011.

Saturday, October 9, 2010

We're down to the finals with only three teams remaining.  Thanks for everyone for making this a fun and enjoyable season.  Please take a moment to send Danny an e-mail with your vote for the sportsmanship award.

Saturday, October 2, 2010

The regular season came to a successful conclusion yesterday evening.  We were blessed by a much-needed soaking during the week AND dry weather this weekend so we could play softball!  Thanks to all coaches and players for the effort and the good spirit during the season.

The first night of tournament softball was a good.  Don't forget that this is a double-elimination tournament so for those teams that lost tonight you get another opportunity next Saturday.  All schedules and results have been updated.

A Note About Parking
We will no longer be able to park on the gravel beyond the gate.  The asphalt parking lot is beginning to crumble and erode at the transition point from the back parking lot to the gravel drive.  The folks at Gate City have asked us to refrain from parking anywhere except the paved, marked parking areas.  In the off season they will add an asphalt down-step to patch the eroded portion and prevent future issues.  Please inform your players and make sure you plan accordingly for the extra walk time from the paved lot to the field.

Monday, September 27, 2010

Thanks to chairmen past and present who quickly found some minor editing errors on the tournament brackets.  The corrected brackets have been re-published.

Saturday, September 25, 2010

The Co-Ed tournament brackets have been posted.

The only seeds "in question" are 3rd and 4th place where Cornerstone and Lawndale #2 are currently tied.  Cornerstone gets the tie-breaker since Cornerstone defeated Lawndale #2 in their only matchup so far.  The teams do play on Friday but waiting until 10:00 Friday to find out when you play on Saturday - especially when each team has a possibility of playing two games - didn't seem prudent.  So, we went with what we have right now.

The games on Friday still count so come ready to play.

We hope everyone had an enjoyable season and we look forward to an enjoyable tournament.

Friday results have been posted and standings have been updated.

What an exciting finish to a fantastic wood bat season!  Complete with a semi-final game ended on a bottom-of-the-7th game-winning in-the-park Home Run  ..... AND  a 12-INNING championship game!!!

Congratulations to Life Community for an excellent season capped off by a well-earned two-game tournament championship win.  We look forward to seeing you al next Summer.

Saturday, August 28, 2010

The co-ed season continues to be a success.  The schedules have been updated with results and the standings have also been updated.

The wood bat championships are Monday night beginning @ 6:30.  If you are unfamiliar with wood bat softball, come out and take a look.

Monday, August 16, 2010

All in all a very good start to the co-ed season.   Results have been posted.  All remaining rosters can be turned in on Saturday to Danny.

All the wood bat tournament results have been published.  Great start to the tournament.

Monday, August 9, 2010

The Wood Bat standings and tournament schedule has been updated.  The tie for 2nd was settled by head-to-head records between the teams in the tie - although it really doesn't matter sine #2 plays #3 in the first round of the tournament.  It was an enjoyable season and places 2-5 were decided by literally 2 or three plays on the last night of play.  All teams in position 2-5 had an opportunity to finish as high as tied for 2nd at the start of the night.  In the end, an extra-inning win by Lawndale settled things.

Saturday. August 7, 2010

The Co-Ed schedules have been posted.  We did decide to schedule two Fridays because of the length of the season playing on Saturdays only.  Please contact Dan Tingler if you see any errors on the schedule.

Co-Ed schedules will be published on Saturday, August 7.

Fall Co-Ed
Co-Ed rules can be found on the BAU website (www.bausoftball.com)
  • Fall Co-Ed will begin play on Saturday August 14.  Why so early?  (Actually this is technically a week later than last year) Because weather combined with Labor Day will push us to play until (or after) Halloween!!!

  • The fee for Fall co-ed is $260.00.  If there are 6 or more teams then a 10-game season will be scheduled, otherwise an 8-game season will be scheduled.

  • Rosters will be due at the field for your first game
